Humanitarianism(s) in Transition: Between Ideals, Power and Agency

The Humanitarian Congress Berlin 2026 addresses the profound upheaval in the humanitarian system: politicization, shrinking access, donor withdrawal, and erosion of humanitarian law. As credibility declines, so does its ability to serve those in need.

In light of these challenges, the congress—organized by Médecins Sans Frontières, Médecins du Monde, the German Red Cross, Oxfam Germany, and The New Humanitarian—creates space for reflection, shared accountability, and rethinking humanitarian action.
