We are pleased to continue, with the silent green Open Lab, a format for Berlin-based musicians who want to take their first steps onto the stage—beyond the pressure of expectations or market-driven presentation.

Following a successful and highly creative first Open Lab, the format now enters its second round and once again opens up space for the unfinished: for experimentation and the search for form, for sound projects that are still in process and exploring new paths.

In a musical landscape where many performance opportunities are tied to professional routines and finished portfolios, Open Lab deliberately sees itself not as a pure showcase, but as a space of possibility: for stepping into the public sphere, for encounters, resonance, and artistic development.

Supporting talent and revealing artistic processes is very important to us at silent green — and that’s exactly what Open Lab is about. It is intentionally not a pure showcase but a space of possibility: for stepping into the public, for encounters, for resonance, and further development.

The Open Lab sessions will take place as double concerts on six dates in July and August 2026. We provide the participating artists with optimal performance conditions through the technical equipment in our dome hall and comprehensive support from our team. Instead of demanding perfect performances in return, we grant voices creative freedom, visibility, and opportunities for exchange.

Both solo acts and ensembles/bands from Berlin are invited to apply, especially those whose approaches not only show individual artistic expression but also a desire to explore and transcend genre boundaries — between electronic music, improvisation, pop, spoken word, or performance.

Then apply by May 31, 2026 with:

  • A brief description of your music project (max. 1,500 characters incl. spaces)
  • A short bio (max. 1,500 characters incl. spaces)
  • Links to audio samples (no attachments!)
  • Social media links, if available

Applications from individuals who already applied for the first Open Lab are also welcome.

The fee for your performance is 300 euros (per act).
