transmediale studio opens its doors once again, where visitors are invited to meet transmediale's 2026 residents and learn about their projects. At 7 pm the artists will share their current research traces and prototypes through performative interventions and presentational formats.
Ahreum Lee reimagines digital infrastructures through gestures of deliberate slowness and ritual acts of data feeding. Beginning with the often invisible consumption of water as a cooling medium within technological systems, her practice seeks to reveal and invert this opacity by transforming water from a hidden resource into both a source of life and a medium of information.
Martyna Marciniak expands her ongoing research into the poetics and politics of visual misinformation by exploring how images fabricate belief and generate a sense of hyperstition: a space where the fake and the real become inseparably entwined.
Amanda E. Metzger explores the imaginative potential of information gaps by linking computer science, quantum, and bio computing with memory studies. Focusing on compression technologies as creative and relational tools, she treats compression not as reduction, but as a generative act.
Laura Benech investigates the concept of latency within entangled systems and how they shape the experience of coexistence between human and synthetic agents. Benech is artist-in-residence of the coExistence Residency in collaboration with HEK (Basel, Switzerland) and Pleamar (Mar del Plata, Argentina), with the support of Pro Helvetia.
The transmediale 2026 residency programme is a collaboration with the Swiss Arts Council Pro Helvetia, the Korean Arts Council ARKO, and the University of the Arts Berlin.
