Retune Festival for Art, Design and Technology

Festival

The Retune Festival is a biennial event at the intersection of art, design, and technology. Since 2012, it has been the most exciting gathering of creatives working with new technologies in Berlin. In its fifth edition, Retune will bring together more than 500 intrepid minds between September 27th – 28th.

In the quest for speculative futures, the festival explores the role of art, design and culture in digital transformation. The event questions in playful, critical and creative ways how technologies like IoT, augmented reality, artificial intelligence, and interactive spaces will shape tomorrow’s society. Visitors can get inspired by internationally renowned creatives, and experiment with future ideas and technologies in hands-on workshops. The idea is to challenge the status quo and common practices. Leading artists, researchers and engineers will give insights into their work: how to design a flying drone dress for Lady Gaga, paint with an artificial muse, design intelligent objects that experiment with humans, or visualize the physical infrastructure of the internet. In talks, panels, workshops, studio visits and performances, visitors can experience and rethink the role of technology.

Day 1 / Sep 27th: A full conference day with international keynotes, talks, discussions and performances. Taking place at Silent Green, a former crematorium and now beautiful event space in Berlin-Wedding. Speakers include Kimchi and Chips, Ralf Baecker, Rosa Menkman, Benjamin Males and Banz & Bowinkel. Installations and performances by RLON, Kling Klang Klong and Rainer Kohlberger.
