Sonic Morgue 03 – Arab Strap, hackedepicciotto, DJ Nic Sleazy

Concert series

Sonic Morgue is a new concert series and club night in the Betonhalle of silent green. It was conceived by Christian Morin, who headed the music programme at the Volksbühne for twelve years and is also a festival dramaturge at Pop-Kultur. The Dresden painter Kerstin Junker is responsible for the visual design of the series. Framed by video installations, performances and art projects, a music event beyond the usual will be created in the underworld of the silent green.

Arab Strap represents the melancholy of Scottish music like no other band. After Aidan Moffat and Malcom Middleton had already disbanded the band in 2006, they are now giving us another masterpiece with As days get dark, which has not yet been heard live here. The concert is their only one in Germany so far. hackedepicciotto is the collaboration of Berlin all-round artist Danielle de Picciotto with Einstürzende Neubauten bassist Alexander Hacke. Together they create a groovy drone-pop that also inspired Daniel Miller, so that he released their new album The silver Threshhold on his label Mute. This record will also be performed live for the first time in Berlin on the evening. The evening will be framed by 8mm-Bar DJ Nic Sleazy.
