am zweiten Adventswochenende stellen wir unsere Kuppelhalle zwei Ensembles zur Verfügung, die sich dem interkulturellen Austausch über das gemeinsame Musizieren verschrieben haben: Am 3. Dezember unterstützen wir mit dem Revival Gospel Chor ein Projekt aus dem Weddinger Kiez, und am 4. Dezember spielt das Babylon Orchestra moderne und klassische Stücke aus Ost und West.

on the first weekend of December, we open our cupola for two music ensembles whose work is dedicated to intercultural exchange: On December 3, we support the Revival Gospel Choir concert, a non-profit project located in our neighbourhood and on December 4, the Babylon Orchestra presents modern and classical works from East and West.

Benefizkonzert
Der Revival Gospel Chor ist eine gemeinnützige Initiative aus Berlin-Wedding, deren multikulturelles Ensemble sich aus Musikern und Sängern aus Deutschland, Ghana, Iran, Serbien, Kamerun, Nigeria und Eritrea zusammensetzt. Mit klassischen Gospel-Songs und afrikanisch-karibischen Rhythmen sammelt die Gruppe bei ihren Auftritten Spenden für humanitäre Projekte. In diesem Jahr unterstützt der Revival Gospel Chor den Verein GEBT ZU ESSEN e.V., der 2010 gegründet wurde, um Kindern in Ghana ein Schulessen und eine kostenfreie medizinische Versorgung zu ermöglichen.

The Revival Gospel Choir
Charity Concert
The Revival Gospel Choir is a non-profit initiative located in Berlin-Wedding which is made up of singers from seven countries, namely: Germany, Ghana, Iran, Serbia, Cameroon, Nigeria and Eritrea. At their shows, the group raises donations for humanitarian projects with a repertoire ranging from classic Gospel songs to African-Caribbean rhythms. This year, the Revival Gospel Choir supports the work of GIVE TO EAT GHANA e.V. This NGO provides free school meals and free medical treatment for children in Ghana.

Konzert-Premiere
Orient trifft Okzident: Das erste Konzert des Babylon Orchestra ist eine musikalische Weltreise – von Syrien über die Mittelmeerländer bis nach Europa. Unter der Leitung von Mischa Tangian spielen Musiker aus Syrien, Iran, Russland, Italien, Griechenland und Deutschland moderne und klassische Stücke u.a. von der ägyptischen Musikerin Umm Kulthum, dem libanesischen Komponisten Ziad Rahbani und dem irakischen Oud-Musiker Naseer Shamma. Auch eigene Stücke, komponiert und arrangiert von den Mitgliedern des Orchesters, werden präsentiert. Neben Violine, Horn und Klavier werden auch Oud und Kanun, orientalische Kurzhalslaute und Kastenzither, erklingen.

Babylon Orchestra
Concert Premiere
Babylon Orchestra´s first concert is a musical trip around the world – from Syria, to the Mediterranean countries and to Europe. Under the musical direction of Mischa Tangian, musicians from Syria, Iran, Russia, Italy, Greece and Germany present modern and classical pieces by the Egyptian singer Umm Kulthum, the Lebanese composer Ziad Rahbani and the Iraqi Oud player Naseer Shamma, among others. Original creations, arranged and composed by the orchestra members, are also at the core of the eclectic programme. Besides the violin, horn and piano, instruments such as the oud and the qanun will be played.
Get to know more about the musical roots of the ensemble. The musicians and the organisers are looking forward to celebrating an exciting evening with you!
