Liebe Freund*innen des silent green,

mit dem kommenden Wochenende geht trotz der äußerst beunruhigenden Gesamtsituation die Zeit der vorweihnachtlichen Gemütlichkeit los. Aus diesem Anlass haben wir uns ein besonderes Format überlegt, mit dem wir, bevor die pandemische Lage uns wieder Richtung Abschottung drängt, noch einmal alle willkommen heißen möchten. Zusammen mit einigen der tollen Mieter*innen unseres Hauses und spannenden Projekten aus dem Wedding veranstalten wir am 4./5.12. ein Open House-Wochenende mit Wintermarkt. Draußen und drinnen und unter strenger Einhaltung der Sicherheitsvorkehrungen und Kontrolle der entsprechenden Nachweise. Euch erwarten allerlei Stände aus dem Haus und dem Kiez, jede Menge Leckereien, historische Führungen durch das Gebäude, Konzerte, ein Kinderfilmprogramm mit Klangwerkstatt, Workshops und vieles mehr. Am Sonntagabend (5.12.) möchten wir euch außerdem zur Vorstellung der nun erscheinenden  Publikation zu unserem Projekt The Garden. Cinematics of the Soil einladen und mit einem Gespräch, einer Lesung und einem Filmscreening auf die Derek Jarman-Ausstellung zurückblicken, die in diesem Sommer stattfand.

Vorher aber bietet der November zum Abschluss bei uns noch zwei musikalische Highlights: Am 26.11. begrüßen wir den britischen Singer-Songwriter Ryan O'Reilly in unserer Kuppelhalle, auf dessen Leidenschaft für das Erzählen von Geschichten in seinen Liedern wir uns freuen. Und zum Abschluss des Monats besucht uns das Forum Brasil mit der Tanztheater-Performance The Pathways of Oxála des afrobrasilianischen Tänzers Murah Soares, der Berliner*innen durch seine Tanzgruppe Afoxé Loni bekannt sein dürfte, mit der er über 16 Jahre lang traditionell den Karneval der Kulturen in Berlin eröffnet hat (28.11.). Das letzte Konzert des Jahres wird die Konzertinstallation "adrift yet somehow tethered" von ensemble mosaik sein, in der an entlegensten Orten der Welt die Natur mit Kamera und Mikrofon erforscht wurde, um innerhalb einer mehrräumigen Installation und Performance die Bedeutung von (Selbst-)Verortung zu erkunden (17.12.). Die letzte historische Führung des Jahres findet am 11.12. um 14 Uhr statt.

Es gelten für den Besuch aller Veranstaltungen die entsprechenden Vorsichts- und Hygienemaßnahmen (einzusehen hier) – wir danken euch für eure Rücksichtnahme.

Dear friends of silent green,

Despite the extremely worrying overall situation, the coming weekend marks the start of the pre-Christmas cosy season. For this occasion, we have come up with a special format, with which we would like to welcome everyone once again before the pandemic situation pushes us back towards isolation. Together with some of the wonderful tenants of our house and exciting projects from Wedding, we are organizing an Open House weekend with a Winter Market on December 4 and 5. Outside and inside and under strict observance of safety precautions and control of the corresponding proofs. You can expect all kinds of booths from participants of the house and the neighbourhood, lots of treats, historical tours through the building, concerts, a children's film programme with a sound workshop, other creative activities and much more.
On Sunday evening (5.12.) we would also like to invite you to the launch of the forthcoming publication on our project The Garden. Cinematics of the Soil and look back on the Derek Jarman exhibition that took place this summer with a talk, a reading and film screening.
We look forward to seeing you!

But before that, November offers two more musical highlights: On 26.11. we welcome British singer-songwriter Ryan O'Reilly in our Kuppelhalle, whose passion for storytelling within his songs we look forward to. And to close the month (28.11.), Forum Brasil visits us with the dance theatre performance The Pathways of Oxála by Afro-Brazilian dancer Murah Soares, who may be known to Berliners through his dance group Afoxé Loni, with whom he traditionally opened the Karneval der Kulturen in Berlin for over 16 years. The last concert of the year will be the concert installation "adrift yet somehow tethered" by ensemble mosaik (17.12.), in which nature was explored with camera and microphone in the most remote places of the world to explore the meaning of (self-)location within a multi-space installation and performance.
