Brandt Brauer Frick Ensemble feat. Beaver Sheppard and The Free Electric Singers
Concert
Within a few years, Brandt Brauer Frick (or short: BBF) have made their mark worldwide with their border-crossing music. The original approach they take to club music with classical instrumentation and elements of jazz has seen them invited to the biggest and most important events in the world.
Special attention has been turned to their second project, the Brandt Brauer Frick Ensemble (BBFE), a 10-person instrumental group founded in 2010, which has performed among others at Montreux Jazz Festival, Lincoln Center New York and Centre Pompidou in Paris.
This line-up has been enhanced further by Canadian singer and self-proclaimed “Renaissance Man” Beaver Sheppard, as well as The Free Electric Singers, a mixed vocal quartet. On September 9th and 10th 2015, this new ensemble will give two unique concerts in Berlin – only a few days after their first show in with this new set up at Philharmonie Cologne.
Judging by the location it is without question that this will be a very special show: The BBFE will perform in the recently restored Kuppelhalle (cupola hall) on the premises of the new Silent Green Kulturquartier. It’s the first ever concert to take place in this former crematory in Berlin Wedding, where also their label !K7 Records has located its new headquarters.
There is more behind these concerts than just an extraordinary performance – the two shows will be recording sessions for the coming live album that will capture the sound and atmosphere of this history-charged place. The BBFE will not only perform known songs in new arrangements, but will also present lots of unheard and unreleased material. The performance will also be filmed by Klein and West as a collaborative effort from BBF, Silent Green and !K7 Records.
The concerts start at 20h, admission is at 19h. The box office opens at 18:30h (cash only!). Tickets only available at the box office tonight (33 €)!
