Nature Theater of Oklahoma: "Germany Year 2071"

Foreign Affairs-Festival

By and with Kelly Copper and Pavol Liska
and amateur actors from Berlin and Cologne

In “Germany Year 2071”, Dorothy and Joseph, the heroes of the legendary “Detroit Miracle”, come to the aid of a country on the brink of collapse. After their initial activities in Cologne, they will continue their mission in the German capital, where ubiquitous building sites have become the backdrop of everyday revolutions.

More than once, Nature Theatre of Oklahoma have challenged and expanded our notions of the theatre. Last year, the New York company of artists completed their multi- part epic “Life & Times” – the first six parts were presented at Foreign Affairs 2013. Recently, they shot the saga of the Nibelungen in the Odenwald-forest. During the festival, Kelly Copper and Pavol Liska will shoot a science-fiction film at various locations throughout Berlin, with a cast of interested participants.

In “Germany 2071”, co-produced by Berliner Festspiele/Foreign Affairs, Akademie der Künste der Welt and Impulse Theater Festival, Nature Theatre of Oklahoma invite us to take an exclusive look at our country’s colourful future: Detachment is not an option. We’re all part of this film. Welcome to our future – as seen from Oklahoma!
