DAY 1 I GREEN
silent green BODY launches the retreat with a day that explores organic and sustainable nourishment.
10:30-13:00 “FRIEDLICHE” WILDNIS | INÉS LAUBER
Friedliche Wildnis (Rest-in-Peace Wilderness) takes us on a foraging journey, into forgotten flavours and stories, and then together with Inés Lauber we place them in a new contemporary context. Hidden and quiet, green and peaceful—and yet urban—silent green’s adjacent graveyard offers the perfect location for our wild-herb excursion. Stay on for a light vegetarian lunch made from the collected goodies.
About Inés Lauber
Inés Lauber is a food experience designer, chef and forager. In 2012, she founded Studio Inés Lauber, a creative food agency and design studio. She is passionate about wild and medicinal plants and her projects and dining experiences often involve seasonally–foraged ingredients.
Extra fee (materials + lunch): 6€
13:30-15:30 SUPERFOOD SAUERKRAUT | HELENA AHONEN
Sauerkraut is a true superfood - a probiotic nutrient bomb, rich in vitamins and minerals with extensive health benefits. In this hands-on workshop, the nutritionist Helena Ahonen shows us how to make creative sauerkraut, whether spicy, colourful or traditional – and what to look out for to make sure, the fermentation process succeeds.
About Helena Ahonen
Helena Ahonen initially worked as a costume designer in Sweden and then ran her own millinery shop for 14 years in Berlin, which she closed to become a nutritionist. Her special interest areas are anti-inflammatory foods and gut health. Helena offers workshops regularly on the powerful, healing properties of fermented foods.
16:00-18:00 SOUL / FOOD | MRS FREE
SOUL/FOOD explores the intertwined relationships of our food with our emotions. The nutrition specialist, Mrs Free makes systemic constellations tangible and demonstrates how they can reveal what or who stands behind our food choices – and how those choices affect us.
About Mrs Free
Mrs Free (Katharina Winkels) was the founder of the iconic record store, Mr Dead & Mrs Free, and is a homeopath and nutrition specialist. At age 15 she developed anorexia and this challenging phase was the beginning of an educational and ultimately healing journey through food, to this day. Mrs Free trained in family constellation therapy with Dr Peter Orban.
18:30-20:30 EDIBLE FACE MASKS & ALEXANDER TECHNIQUE I DAVID YOUNG
One of the great things about a nourishing face mask is that you can’t have business meetings, skypes or serious conversations with it on. This workshop combines the pleasure of making and applying low-impact face masks with the relaxation and awareness of Alexander Technique. Learn to mix your own tailored mask from entirely edible, gentle and low cost ingredients, and experience a new relationship between your mind and your body while waiting for it to do its magic.
About David Young
David Young is an Alexander Technique teacher with a background in music, artistic direction, sport, social enterprise and mental health. Born in Australia, he now lives in Berlin and works with people to realise their full potential.
