Krake Festival opens up again this year at silent green Kulturquartier, a beautiful former crematorium in the north of Berlin, which has been operating as an art and cultural center for a few years only. Its remarkable octagonal domed room offers the perfect surrounding to host performances outside the usual club context. Raster-Noton's Byetone presents his recent project, which combines his typical rhythmical sound with a projection of spiral floods of colour. Mary Ocher, known for addressing discomforts and tensions in our society with her polarising performances, appears solo with her beautiful piano playing set to support her stunning voice. MNM, comprised of the Hiroshima born sound artist Mieko Suzuki and the Singaporian dancer Ming Poon, introduce their installation/interactive concert, which has been explored in clubs as well as art places like the Centre Pompidou.

KRAKE Festival is an annual electronic music festival with an experimental edge organized by Killekill. Spread across selected locations in Berlin from 23rd July onwards, the one-week festival is determined to showcase a vivid program of live performances, DJ sets and a variety of visual arts that step outside the boundaries of ordinary club affairs. On a mission to eliminate genre restrictions, the festival line-up taps into a mixture of styles representing artists that dare to explore new sound concepts covering techno and far beyond. Having an internationally acclaimed selection of artists on board year after year, Krake's down-to-earth mentality continues to promote quality music experiences and club culture with a solid party vibe.
