Concert: AHAJEEZ JAZZ EXPERIMENT
The Ahajeez Jazz Experiment is inspired by the complex rhythmic traditions of Sawt and Bahri music in Kuwait. In addition, Ahajeez mixes songs from the folklore repertoire that merge with world jazz in contemporary arrangements, using Western instruments, harmonies and rhythmic concepts. The concert brings together Tareq Rantisi (drums, composition, arrangement), Yousif Yasseen (guitar, vocals), José Soto (electric piano), Han Belyli (electric bass) and Alex Johnson (saxophone).

"Wish You Were Here!" AFAC Summer Festival in cooperation with FLAX' is part of a series of events initiated and supported by the Arab Fund for Arts and Culture (AFAC) in Europe. Since the end of 2016, AFAC has been bringing together artists and cultural practitioners from the Arab world with local partners and presenting artistic programmes in Germany. In addition to cooperation with the Allianz Cultural Foundation, the Heinrich Böll Foundation, the House of World Cultures and the Berlinale, AFAC also co-organized the symposia "Imagining the Future", "Revisiting Archive in the Aftermath of Revolution" and "Writing (In) Exile". AFAC supported the staging of "Ur" by Kuwaiti author and director Sulayman Al Bassam at Munich's Residenztheater and Mohammed el-Attars "Iphigenie" at Berlin's Volksbühne.
