This year's AFAC Summer Festival will conclude with a visit to the amazing country of N3rdistan: Led by mystical melodies, disturbing lyrics and captivating rhymes, and led by charismatic Walead Ben Selim, N3rdistan will create a bold and unusual fusion of rock, trip hop, electro, oriental beat and world influences. The quartet (Mahmoud Darwish, Kahlil Gibran, Nizar Qabbani, Nazek El Malaeka) effortlessly combines digital technology, traditional Arabic poetry, Qanun melodies and African music and asks questions about the meaning of life and life in digital exile.

"Wish You Were Here!" AFAC Summer Festival in cooperation with FLAX' is part of a series of events initiated and supported by the Arab Fund for Arts and Culture (AFAC) in Europe. Since the end of 2016, AFAC has been bringing artists and cultural workers from the Arab world together with local partners and presenting artistic programmes in Germany. In addition to cooperation with the Allianz Cultural Foundation, the Heinrich Böll Foundation, the House of World Cultures and the Berlinale, AFAC also co-organized the symposia "Imagining the Future", "Revisiting Archive in the Aftermath of Revolution" and "Writing (In) Exile". AFAC supported the staging of "Ur" by Kuwaiti author and director Sulayman Al Bassam at Munich's Residenztheater and Mohammed el-Attars "Iphigenie" at Berlin's Volksbühne.
