Thomas Oberender and Simon Strauß: Literature and Theater

Reading

Although literature and theater were originally intimately connected, recent decades have seen an increased distancing between the two. Traditional theater texts are considered incapable of reacting to current developments. Some critics complain that performative stage aesthetics increasingly push literary language off the stage. Thomas Oberender [D], Simon Strauß [D] and Maxi Obexer [D] discuss these difficult relationships and their causes.
