Kevin Devine

People who have experienced Kevin Devine during a live concert describe this experience with words like: "That felt so personal. I honestly feel like I violated his personal space by listening."

The 40-year-old Brooklynian is a musical chameleon who has been oscillating between extremes for 14 years. Intimate acoustic moments and loud rock songs alternate with indie and folk songs, which occasionally take a detour into grunge or Lo-Fi à la Nirvana. In the present his style is set in acoustic folk and reminds of legends like Bob Dylan or Neil Young.

This year he celebrates the 10th anniversary of his fifth of six published albums: Brother's Blood during a solo acoustic tour. The lyrics are about hallucinogenic fever dreams, fantasized infidelity, Irish women, cold feet or the end of all days. His varied lyrics are connected to his studies in journalism and his experiences of growing up in a police family.
