Harald Blüchel began playing the piano at the age of four, received a scholarship from the city of Nuremberg three years later at the conservatory there and studied composition at the Berlin University of the Arts in 1987.
His enthusiasm for electronic music brought him into the inner circle of the Berlin techno scene, out of which he became a world star in the years 1991-1999 as Cosmic Baby.
Closely intertwined with his role as composer & producer was his presence as a live performer: his virtuoso skills on keyboards and synthesizers gave him an exceptional position: he became one of the most sought after acts in the worldwide club, rave and festival scene and a forerunner of a new generation of electronic live performers like Pantha Du Prince, Moderat or Nils Frahm.
As a composer for theater he worked at the Staatstheater Stuttgart, at the Theater Neumarkt in Zurich, at the Schauspielhaus Hamburg and at the Schauspiel Köln.
Since 2008, I have been working intensively on piano music again. I returned to my beginnings: making elemental music, concentrating on one instrument, my favorite instrument ". Over time, this resulted in a musical form, which he describes as a minimalistromanticist style: "I want the most reduced form possible, which nevertheless is sensual.
The compositions are based on repetitive structures and rhythmic patterns, i.e. the means of repetition and their variation on the one hand, and highly melodic elements in the spirit of classical romanticism on the other.
In April 2020 his album No Ordinary Moments and the art book NOM is released. As special guest, composer & pianist Arnold Kasar will kick off the evening with pieces from his current album Resonanz. In swapped roles, there is a new edition of the much celebrated concert evening, which took place on November 16, 2019 here at silent green.
