Feminism and Horror Stories: Lesley Nneka Arimah & Carmen Maria Machado

Gespräch I internationales literaturfestival berlin

Two authors under 40 who have both submitted award-winning collections of stories. Their stories tell of the everyday life of young women in Nigeria and the USA. Beyond a purely realistic depiction, the texts incorporate elements of fantasy and horror. Bodies are exposed, injured, and disappear. A virtual encounter and a conversation about storytelling on the border between horror and feminism. In cooperation with EXC 2020 Temporal Communities: Doing Literature in a Global Perspective.

The event will be held in English. It has been pre-recorded.
