Global Encounters: Elena Poniatowska & Michi Strausfeld

Lesung I internationales literaturfestival berlin

Michi Strausfeld, who is one of the 50 most renowned scholars of Latin American cultural life, will digitally meet with the writer, journalist, and Cervantes award-winner Elena Poniatowska, whose works lend a voice to all the disadvantaged and outcasts of society. Topics will include the considerations of social and political developments in the context of how they are viewed from a poetic-literary perspective. Strausfeld paints a picture of Poniatowska in her 2019 book »Gelbe Schmetterlinge und die Herren Diktatoren: Lateinamerika erzählt seine Geschichte«.

In cooperation with EXC 2020 Temporal Communities: Doing Literature in a Global Perspective.

The event will be held in Spanish with English subtitles. It has been pre-recorded.
