Lesung I internationales literaturfestival berlin
For the fictional reconstruction of the historical figure Thomas Cromwell, which was described as her »largest cycle of novels of the twenty-first century« by FAZ, Hilary Mantel was the first woman to win the Booker Prize on two occasions. Without falling into a historiographical tone, the author makes use of a wide range of modern narratives, illustrates the intellectual views of the time through numerous dialogues, and describes the principles of English politics of alliances, enmities, and intrigue. Hilary Mantel participates remotely.
