What is masculinity? Does it have to be described as »toxic«, »fragile«, and »in crisis«? In his first non-fiction book, the poet and novelist JJ Bola deals with the notion of masculinity and associated concepts. Complemented by autobiographical episodes, he addresses male privileges as well as the importance of emotional work and intersectionality and explains that only profound cultural and social change can lead to real gender equality.
