Final exhibition of the Villa Aurora scholarship holders of the year 202
The installations, video and audio works as well as photographs by the artists Ulu Braun, Nadine Fecht, Marc Fromm, Anna Sofie Hartmann, Robin Stretz and Sarah Szczesny tell of Los Angeles as a promised and burnt land, as a "sugar daddy and salt mama" (Ulu Braun), as a dream world and nightmare. The artists stayed in the German artist residence Villa Aurora in Los Angeles for 3 months each in 2021.
The Villa Aurora in the former exile residence of the German-Jewish writer Lion Feuchtwanger celebrated its 25th anniversary last year as a residency for up to 20 artists living in Germany. Since its founding, more than 450 artists have realised artistic projects there in the fields of literature, film, visual arts and composition.
