international literature festival berlin: Paths to Climate Neutrality

Readings & talks

with Franz Josef Radermacher D [participates remotely], Ulrike Herrmann D and Carla Reemtsma D

Germany is to become climate neutral by 2045. Can this goal also be achieved on a global scale? While the mathematician, computer scientist, and economist Franz Josef Radermacher argues for large-scale CO2 offsets that should flow into development aid, the economic expert and journalist Ulrike Herrmann calls for a farewell to capitalism: she imagines a circular economy instead of global growth. Together with Carla Reemtsma, climate activist and co-founder of the Fridays for Future movement in Germany, the two discuss how the fight against climate change and economic transformations are mutually dependent.
