Lost Girls – sold out! –

silent green presents

Norwegian duo Lost Girls, made up of artist and writer Jenny Hval and multi-instrumentalist Håvard Volden, have a creative relationship extending over more than ten years. They are completely committed to the joy of experimentation and their sound sketches and improvisations have something free, informal and idiosyncratic about them.

Selvutsletter is Lost Girls' first album since their highly acclaimed 2021 debut Menneskekollektivet, which was named one of the best releases of the year by Pitchfork, The FADER, Brooklyn Vegan, Paste, FLOOD and others. While Menneskekollektivet was about exploring club beats and expanding and trying out structures, Selvutsletter is about getting lost in experiences. It combines the intuitive, nocturnal mood of Lost Girls' earlier work with experimental rock music as its subject matter.

As the material for Selvutsletter developed, the words, already embedded in the chords, guitar sounds and rhythms, began to dance around. Soon the lyrics began to take shape, with themes that included cities after dark, music rituals, 90s band rehearsals and the dawn of the internet. They were Hval's own memories of her hometown and her obsession with making music to leave it behind or even set it on fire. In this sense, Selvutsletter is about retracing Hval and Volden's steps, what it felt like to discover music, the intense physical and communal experience of creating something.

ML Buch
ML Buch is a Copenhagen based composer, producer, guitarist and vocalist, connecting intimate pop schemes with explorative electronic soundscapes. With an offset in open tunings on a 7-string Stratocaster, slide and fretless tablet guitars, and deep sampling of guitar plugins, ML Buch draws up narratives and locations in a distant time. Props like puddles, well buckets, bone barrels and flesh rags live in these scenes, suspended in air, roaming around, climbing stairs and ladders, all given life through her guitar sensibilities and visceral vocals. Her second album Suntub will be released October 27th through new Danish imprint 15 love.
