German Prize for Nature Writing 2023

In September, Berlin will become the capital of literature: 140 authors from over 40 countries are expected to attend the 23. internationales literaturfestival berlin. From September 6–16, 130 events will take place. Literature enthusiasts will have the opportunity to meet their favorite authors and discover exciting new voices during readings and presentations.
German Prize for Nature Writing 2023
Award ceremony. Greetings: Claudia Roth (Minister of State for Culture), Prof. Dr. Dirk Messner (President of the Federal Environment Agency), Börries von Notz (Managing Director of the Foundation Art & Nature), Dr. Simone Schröder (Programme Director ilb), Dr. Andreas Rötzer (Publisher Matthes & Seitz Berlin).
The German Prize for Nature Writing honours writers who deal intensively with nature issues. Whether species extinction, biodiversity in urban spaces or the human desire to dissolve boundaries - the award-winning works reflect the relationship between nature and culture. The prize winners of recent years include Esther Kinsky, Marion Poschmann and Levin Westermann. This year the prize goes to Susanne Eules. Eules will read from miami t:ex(i)ting. The literary critic Beate Tröger will give the laudatory speech.
Admission is free. Registration in advance is not necessary.
In collaboration with the publishing house Matthes & Seitz Berlin, in cooperation with the Federal Environment Agency and the Foundation Art and Nature.
