The Great Learning

Public network meeting on the future of ensemble and band funding organized by Musikfonds e.V. in cooperation with FREO e.V. and Podium Gegenwart of the German Music Council.

During the corona pandemic, new funding programs for independent ensembles from various genres were created. As part of NEUSTART KULTUR, the Musikfonds launched its first funding program for professional ensembles and bands from the independent scene. The German Music Council implemented a funding program that was developed together with FREO (Freie Ensembles und Orchester in Deutschland e.V.).

The German Music Council's Podium Gegenwart also established the InSzene funding program for young ensembles.
The experience gained with these funding programs forms the basis for a joint learning process. In a bazaar of skills, a world café and a panel discussion, experiences will be exchanged between the various players in the music scene. The aim is to align future ensemble funding with the needs of the independent music scene in the best possible way. To this end, we invite representatives of ensembles and bands funded by NEUSTART KULTUR, funding institutions, professional associations and cultural administrations as well as all those interested in the topic to a one-day network meeting in Berlin.

The programme will be musically framed by the Fabrik Quartet and the ÉRMA Ensemble, both of which take part in the Podium Gegenwart's InSzene ensemble support programme.

The event language will be German, unfortunately we cannot offer simultaneous translation.
The event is free of charge, please register via surveymonkey.com.
The preliminary program can be downloaded here.
