Warm Winters Ltd.
Warm Winters Ltd. is a Bratislava-based record label and music studio established in 2019. Its roster is fairly international, with a strong focus on supporting Central and Eastern European artists.
Aleksandra Słyż
Aleksandra Słyż is a Polish composer, musician and sound engineer. She holds degrees from the University of A. Mickiewicz in Poznań, the Poznań Academy of Music, and the Royal College of Music in Stockholm. In her compositions, Słyż explores the relationships between acoustic and synthetic sounds. This process is often rooted in natural tuning systems, through which she constructs rich, complex drone structures that highlight the power of microtonal, electroacoustic tensions. Interactive sonification systems are another large part of her artistic practice. Between 2017 and 2022 Słyż conducted artistic research involving practical experiments on movement sonification and various types of interaction. Her works have been presented at the most important European music festivals and in various major venues including Rewire Festival; CTM; Aarhus Festival; Unsound; Fiber Festival; NODE; Warsaw Autumn; Kyiv Music Fest; OSA Festival; ORF musikprotokoll; The Royal Concertgebouw; Fylkingen; Ancienne Belgique; The National Polish Radio Symphony Orchestra; Kunsthalle Helsinki; Meet Factory; Dom im Berg; MONOM; Kunsthal Gent.
Marta Forsberg
Marta Forsberg is a Swedish-Polish sound artist and musician based in Berlin. In recent years, she has released music through labels such as Warm Winters Ltd., XKatedral, and Superpang. Her work delves into themes of language and human memory, with a strong focus on archival research. Lately, she has been experimenting with the interplay between human and synthetic voices, creating soundscapes that are both intimate and ethereal. Marta frequently collaborates with performers and choreographers like Sindri Runudde and Sheena McGrandles, while also engaging in pedagogical work, teaching music composition. Alongside Lo Kristenson, she co-founded Konstmusiksystrar, an organization dedicated to promoting gender equality in the Swedish music scene. Marta studied electroacoustic composition at the Royal College of Music in Stockholm and the Fryderyk Chopin University of Music in Warsaw.
Luka Aron
Luka Aron is a German musician and composer of electroacoustic and minimalist music, based between Stockholm and Berlin. His work focuses on the spectral fusion of synthesized sound with acoustic instruments, combining the raw intensity of power electronics with the fragility of human touch. The Guardian described his music as “thick, impasto layers of slow-moving sound that completely command your attention.” Drawing from psychoacoustic phenomena and their connection to just intonation, Aron’s compositions use precise tone selection to elicit additional tones in the listener’s perception, gradually unveiling hidden layers of sound. Like light rays meeting the water’s surface – partially reflecting into the air and refracting at once, as they pass into a new medium – these "ghost tones" settle into consciousness, capturing an arresting attention. Devoid of ornamentation yet imbued with poetic grace, his pieces challenge subject-object boundaries, acting as powerful catalysts for states of mind that transcend the mundane. Aron holds a Master’s in Electroacoustic Composition from the Royal College of Music in Stockholm and graduated from the Musikakademie Basel. His work has been showcased at venues and festivals, including Berghain, KW Institute for Contemporary Art, Harpa, Primavera Sound, Robot Festival, Dancity Festival, LUFF, Les Urbaines, and the Royal College of Music. In addition to his solo work, he is a member of the trio Minua and the dream-gaze band Roomer, and has collaborated with artists such as Skúli Sverrisson, Jim Black, Ludwig Wandinger, ronja, Courtesy, Amina Hocine, Vilhelm Bromander, and Mattias Hållsten.
