Rachel Sermanni + Jessie Monk

silent green presents

Rachel Sermanni
Rachel Sermanni is a Scottish based singer/songwriter that makes the mundane moments mystical: shock-positive pregnancy tests in train-station toilets, coffee machine breakages, cold river swims, the regret of not saying ‘I love You', the moon & how it pulls, bare feet on wood floors, the soft glow of a house plant, ‘what even is consciousness?’, strange dreams lingering in quiet mornings…

She brims with dreamy indie-folk pop that speaks of the struggle and desire to Flow, to love, to live, to feel. Sometimes, her songs speak of the rare moments of quiet-still, found in the midst of this struggle & desire.

Rachel’s most recent offering is her 4th studio album: Dreamer Awake. An in depth assortment of playful and candid vignettes, peeping into life: after birth, after separation and in the wake of recognising the internalised conditionings of patriarchy.

Jessie Monk
Jessie Monk, an Australian artist based between Melbourne/Naarm and Berlin, weaves new stories with old threads, inspired by ancient myths, Celtic and Appalachian folk traditions and experimental art forms such as butoh and new music. Together with her band she creates a sound world that feels both grounded and dreamlike, enchanting audiences with compositions filled with poetry, symbol, imagination and reflection.

Her sound recalls Joni Mitchell, Sam Amidon or Anna Mieke, while her lyrics are inspired by Rilke and Ovid. Also an actress and dancer, Jessie brings a striking presence to the stage, shaped by her work in major productions such as David Bowie’s Lazarus or Anaïs Mitchell’s Hadestown. After her debut Boundless Folk she now tours her second album Mis O’ The Mountains, a concept piece based on the Celtic goddess Mis, which has been nominated by the Australian Folk Music Alliance as Contemporary Folk Album of the Year 2025.
