Alejandra Cárdenas (Ale Hop) pres. A Body Like a Home + Leslie García (Microhm)

silent green presents

Alejandra Cárdenas (Ale Hop)
Following collaborations with Laura Robles (Agua Dulce) and Titi Bakorta (Mapambazuko), Peruvian experimentalist Alejandra Cárdenas—also known as Ale Hop—presents her most personal work to date, A Body Like a Home. Marking her first album under her birth name, the project is a sonic memoir where songs and poems map the fraught terrains of trauma, recovery, and love.

At the heart of the album is Cárdenas’s voice—part witness, part confessor—over layers of electric guitar, electronic textures, and evocative field recordings; channelling years of turbulence—intergenerational scars left by colonialism, racism, domestic violence, and alcoholism—into a work that oscillates between brutality and tenderness.

To amplify the album's emotional gravity to the stage, Cárdenas will debut the material playing live for the first time in a trio formation, with Gibrana Cervantes on the violin, and Ignacio Briceño on the second guitar.

Guest musicians: Gibrana Cervantes, Ignacio Briceño

Leslie García (Microhm)
Leslie García is a Mexican sound artist, experimental electronic musician, and DAAD Sound and Music Fellow 2025. Her practice explores the intersection of art, science, and technology through immersive sonic environments and conceptual sound design.

As founder of the collective Interspecifics and through her solo project Microhm, García merges minimalism, rhythmic complexity, and speculative narratives to investigate the non-human and the vibrational.

Her work has been presented at major festivals and institutions across Europe, the Americas, and Asia, resonating between emotional intensity and critical experimentation.
