Album Release Show
Anyone who follows the contemporary German music scene, whether consciously or unconsciously, has most likely heard music composed by Ralph Heidel at some point. Ralph Heidel is not only a sought-after composer, arranger, producer, sound researcher, and multi-instrumentalist, but he is also the only musician to have worked with artists such as Apsilon, Bazzazian, Casper, Jungstötter, Tristan Brusch, and Lisa Morgenstern, as well as for the Berlin Ensemble and the National Theatre Mannheim. Alongside this, he has written classical commissioned compositions. As a solo artist from Germany, far removed from the mainstream, his music is played on BBC Radio 6 and has been positively reviewed in Mojo Magazine. His music always exists at the intersection of organic and electronic sound worlds, blending neoclassical string quartets, bedroom pop, nu-jazz, chamber music, and futuristic beats. It also floats between intimate piano themes, cosmic-sounding synths, layered saxophone runs, and humming vocal textures.
His current third album, anyways.onto better things, is probably his most intimate and personal work. For his live performances, he reduces himself to the minimum and manages to create emotional, unique soundscapes with piano, synthesizers, and his versatile saxophone tones.
