ZEIT WISSEN Congress – Courage for Sustainability 2025

Climate. Power. Politics.
Global Alliances for Climate and Biodiversity

The threats are urgent—and familiar. Species are disappearing, carbon emissions are climbing, ecosystems are under siege. The stakes couldn’t be higher, and the question is no longer if we act, but how. In a world marked by political uncertainty, what strategies can truly make a difference?

We need bold thinking. Unlikely alliances. Ideas that reach across disciplines and borders.

The ZEIT Wissen Kongress 2025 invites you to dive into exactly these questions. On Sept. 16, 2025, we’ll bring together a wide range of voices: climate scientists with new insights, business leaders building greener economies, policymakers testing fresh approaches and activists who are reframing the conversation. Their goal: to chart strategies that don’t just protect life on Earth—but help it thrive.

What would it take to build global climate alliances that drive real impact?

How can powerful storytelling cut through the noise and make the crisis impossible to ignore? What solutions can preserve biodiversity—and how are they tied to agriculture, food systems and natural resource protection?

As global temperatures rise, another reality becomes harder to ignore: The climate crisis hits hardest in the Global South. What needs to change to make climate policy truly fair and inclusive?

These are the questions driving the ZEIT Wissen Kongress 2025.

Special Highlight: To close the day, the team behind ZEIT Verbrechen will record a live episode on stage. Journalists Anne Kunze and Amrai Coen will unpack a new true crime case and offer a behind-the-scenes look at their reporting process.

The ZEIT WISSEN Kongress – Mut zur Nachhaltigkeit (Courage for Sustainability) is a joint initiative of the Forum für Verantwortung foundation, Oliver Wyman and the ZEIT Verlagsgruppe. This year’s network partner is the Gesunde Erde – Gesunde Menschen foundation.
