Founders and curators of the Utopienale, guest contributors to the art monograph on Parallel Media
The title tense_intense refers to the temporal dimension of density in the time-based art of Parallel Media. It reflects the authentic self-reflection of the artist personalities Barbara Doser (video and visual artist) and Hofstetter Kurt (conceptual, media artist and composer), whose artistic work is interwoven under Parallel Media – Barbara Doser || Hofstetter Kurt.
The works featured in the publication are available on the YouTube channel of the publisher Zwei Kongruent Null. Over the past three decades, these works have been presented at festivals, galleries, and museums in more than 40 countries.

Media performance of an uncompromisingly abstract world of form and sound
Barbara Doser’s abstract moving images, based on video feedback material, and Hofstetter Kurt’s acousmatic music, resulting from his time-space experiments (Mobius Sounds and the Supersymmetric Composition Method), prove to be inherently destined for synthesis. It is the affinity of their structure—emerging from parallelism and cyclical principles—that connects them.
The artistic intention of Parallel Media is to create audiovisual, synesthesia-inducing art—to hear moving images and see music.
