Sophia Stel

Sophia Stel's music defies the boundaries of any single genre. Her sound blends modern pop with indie and alternative influences, experimental hyperpop, and atmospheric dance and electropop. Precise lyrics and a 2000s digicam aesthetic complete the sonic and visual world that defines her artistry.

Raised in Vancouver, Sophia Stel has been making music for as long as she can remember. What began with a cappella melodies eventually led her to beatmaking in high school and, later, to DIY production in a basement studio beneath a club where she worked at the time. Along the way, she developed a distinctive sound that merges modern electropop with a bedroom-pop sensibility, drawing on indie and alternative influences while continually incorporating new sounds and ideas.

Following a support slot for Lorde at the Kia Forum in Los Angeles and signing with A24, Sophia Stel released her long-awaited debut album, the greatest album of all time, in October, further expanding her post-genre sound.
