SONIC MORGUE The Opening – Sometimes with others, Roller Derby, Plaisir, Apex Anima and Frznte

Concert series

Sonic Morgue is a new concert series and club night in the Betonhalle of silent green. It was conceived by Christian Morin, who headed the music programme at the Volksbühne for twelve years and is also a festival dramaturge at Pop-Kultur. The Dresden painter Kerstin Junker is responsible for the visual design of the series. Framed by video installations, performances and art projects, a music event beyond the usual will be created in the underworld of the silent green.

The first evening of the series features many new and innovative projects, most of which were only founded during the Corona Pandemic and have not yet been seen much. The Berlin band Sometimes with others is the pop-noir project of singer Mika Bajinski. Together with Swans veteran Kristof Hahn and Mick Harvey bassist Yoyo Röhm and cellist Marie-Caire Schlameus, she creates a sound universe that is impossible to escape. The Hamburg band Roller Derby has already won so many fans internationally with their dream pop during Corona that they were immediately invited to SXSW in Austin. Plaisir from Berlin are also brand new. The project around Swedish KC Dahlehan has dedicated itself to a mixture of shoegaze and postpunk. Apex Anima & Frznte is a collaboration between Icelandic multi-media artist Unnur Andrea Einarsdóttir and Berlin-based pole performer Frznte. Future-electro-pop meets performance. Together they will play live and DJ the evening.
