The Third Life of Agnès Varda // Workshop
In this 2-day workshop, we will trace the spirit of Mme Varda as a group and make a black and white Super 8 film together. Inspired by her ideas, her legacy, her images, her playfulness - we will dive in, search, find, experiment, mix ... wild images and concrete (vegetable) developing substances.
Dagie Brundert studied graphic and experimental film design in Berlin and is a Super 8, short and experimental filmmaker. Her films have been shown at international film festivals, where they have also won prizes. She also specialises in bio-developing Super 8 films. To find alternatives to conventional, polluting developers, she began experimenting with Caffenol, a black-and-white negative developer made from instant coffee, vitamin C powder and washing soda, and continues to add more useful organic matter to her repertoire as she deepens her knowledge of how it interacts with silver salts embedded in the film layer and how time and light can be captured.
