Nivhek (Grouper/Liz Harris): ENGINE – sold out! –

silent green presents

Accompanied by a film by Takashi Makino, Liz Harris (aka Grouper) presents a new live show called ENGINE as part of her project Nivhek. The work is constructed from field recordings of car and train engine noise recorded at drag races over the past decade, overlaid with synthesiser and electronics.
ENGINE began inside a decade-long obsession with engine noise. The sound of excess, power, sex, destruction, capitalism, of oil becoming an airborne pollutant, of transformation, of life. Guttural bass and rev a mirror of organic rhythms - mimicking heartbeats, breathing, blood rushing. A spiral ode to symbiotic decay.

Megan Alice Clune
is a musician, artist and composer from Australia. Her work explores the dynamic relationships between music, technology, the body and temporality through composition, performance and installation. Described as ‘visionary ambient’ (Rockerilla), ‘breathtakingly intimate’ (Bandcamp Daily) and 'a pristine exercise in precise simplicity' (boomkat.com), Megan’s music portrays an emotional depth through a minimal sonic palette, delicately balancing textures that are at once rich and sparse.
