poesiefestival berlin
Every summer, the poesiefestival berlin brings international poetry to new locations across the city. Poets perform and read, creating temporary new spaces for poetry – the Poets' Corner.
In established events like Weltklang – Night of Poetry and the Berlin Poetry Lecture, as well as in new formats like Vocations, there will be singing, performing, and reflecting. Afternoons offer the chance to get to know poets and their work in intimate poetry talks, while evening events will discuss socio-political topics in larger panels, such as Writing Class, Writing Identities, Writing Histories, and Writing Change.
The final festival weekend features a poetry market, where numerous poets will give free readings outdoors. The Poetic Education program offers a wide range of workshops for families and all age groups.
Since the year 2000, the poesiefestival berlin has been bringing international poetry to Berlin and showcasing current trends in contemporary poetry. It is the largest poetry festival in Europe and one of the most important poetry events worldwide.
The poesiefestival berlin is a project of the Haus für Poesie and is supported by the Capital Cultural Fund.
