transmediale open studio

transmediale studio opens its doors once again, where visitors are invited to meet transmediale's 2025 residents and learn about their projects. At 5 pm the artists will share their current research traces and prototypes through performative interventions and presentational formats.

D'Andrade proposes a form and language to transcreate through a translating process – absorbing, processing, translating, and reorienting semantic practices, using sound and visuality as part of the relational: The ultra-reading method.

Anan Fries’ research unfolds around the question of how information technologies and "artificial intelligence" reshape our desires, our sexualities, and our understanding of gender. DEEPER THROATS is a post-digital, post-porn deep dive into digisexuality and monstrous AI-generated porn.

SunJeong Hwang’s current practice investigates embodied perception and intersensorial feedback. Telluric Memory prototypes incorporate sensor networks, ecological data harvesting, and AI-driven compositional processes to build a responsive architecture where rhythms are negotiated across human somatics, algorithmic logic, and planetary conditions.

Andrea Galano Toro speculates on vehicles and models of language-in-kinship with more-than-human companions. Through the repurposing of technological tools, Assemblage(s) explores how practices of observation can shift from measurement and control toward relational, affective modes of sensing.

Stefan Karrer’s ongoing project, The Prompt Engineer, examines AI through the lens of human contribution, focusing on how people interact with generative AI and the broader political, economic, and cultural systems surrounding them.

The transmediale 2025 residency programme is a collaboration with the Swiss Arts Council Pro Helvetia, the Korean Arts Council ARKO, the Ministry of the Cultures, Arts and Heritage of Chile, and the University of the Arts Berlin.
