Festival of Animation Berlin

Animation for the Capital!
The 8th Festival of Animation Berlin (FAB) presents the best international and regional animated films from September 25–28 at City Kino Wedding. The festival traditionally focuses on short artistic animation in all its forms – from traditional hand-drawn animation to stop motion, CGI, cross-media experiments, and 360° films.

In addition to 14 competition film programs – including the Pink Panda children's programs and 3 feature films – audiences can look forward to a diverse supporting program. Highlights include the Berlin Animation Hub, an important industry event, as well as children's workshops, guided exhibition tours, and discussion panels.

With the exhibition 5th FAB Dimensional – Animation Expanded in the Betonhalle, animation art becomes tangible beyond the cinema space, outside the clearly defined and familiar framework of linear films, and at the intersection of sculpture, games, and installation art.

FAB Dimensional – Animation Expanded (Betonhalle)

With the fifth edition of the exhibition series FAB Dimensional, the Festival of Animation Berlin explores animation beyond the cinema screen and outside the familiar boundaries of linear film formats – at the intersection of sculpture, gaming, and installation art.

The medium of animation, by nature of its production process and creative approach, offers many intersections with other artistic disciplines. The exhibition features ten international artistic positions, each making animation tangible in space, inviting interaction, and sparking wonder.
