Acephalic Headspace pres. ladr ache + Lésions Graves Sextet plays Julius Eastman

Two bands that we cannot believe still seem to be under the Berlin radar until now but will blow your mind. An intense musical experience with a high grade of originality, invited by Acephalic Headspace: black metal plays minimal music, rhythms, repetitions, circular movement of objects, bodies, and voices turn into an unstable ritual.

Lésions Graves
Lésions Graves are rooted in Black Metal and have developed a style that draws on hypnotic repetitive patterns borrowed from Minimal Music combined with the intensity of rock. 

As a Sextet, Lésions Graves will perform their newest endeavour, a composition by Julius Eastman, re-arranged for four electric guitars and drums. Composed according to Eastman's "organic principle," this music unfolds through gradual transformation of recurring musical material. Its sketch-like score invites extensive interpretation, creating an intense, open-ended experience for performers and listeners alike. 

Julius Eastman (1940–1990) was an African-American composer who fused minimalism with political provocation, challenging the conventions of white classical music. His works foregrounded themes of racism and homophobia, while blending minimalism with free jazz, gospel, and No Wave.

ladr ache
ladr ache, a six-piece collective hailing from Brussels (Belgium), combining polyphonic singing with hypnotic rhythms, is one of a kind and a hidden treasure in the leftfield of experimental music. This is music that immerses in raw punk energy, where pounding drums clash with buzzing drones, mechanical pulses, amplified objets and serial chanting.  

Live, they create a borderless soundscape where the intimate merges with the collective, where machines seem to breathe, and silences carry as much weight as saturated textures. An unstable ritual gradually takes shape: fragile, visceral, and deeply inhabited.  

At the start of the evening, the video-loop “Flicker Holes” by Tim Tetzner will be projected onto the dome above the audience’s heads.
