HALF LIGHT – An Audiovisual Concert Experience Between Sound, Image, and Perception

HALF LIGHT brings together four artists working at the intersection of sound, image, and perception. Rather than presenting a sequence of individual concerts, the programme is conceived as one continuous experience, unfolding across the evening as a single overarching arc of tension and immersion.

Italian composer Abul Mogard and Brazilian video artist Marja de Sanctis present the A/V premiere of a new work emerging from the critically acclaimed album Quiet Pieces. Slowly shifting electronic textures, archival fragments, and moving images unfold into an expansive spatial experience.

Ibero-American artist Rafael Anton Irisarri presents a solo performance built around bowed guitar, powerful overtones, and resonant drones. Drawing on his recent work Points of Inaccessibility, he explores the paradox of alienation in an age of constant connectivity, building towards moments of profound catharsis.

The evening opens with Mexican sound artist Concepción Huerta and her latest live performance, which explores the enduring fascination of magnetic tape and its poetic possibilities. Through feedback, filtering, and layered sound fragments, she makes sound tangible as a physical medium.
