The Japanese filmmaker Shinsuke Ogawa (1936-1992) is one of the most important protagonists of documentary filmmaking. In the late '60s Ogawa and his collective Ogawa Pro started shooting films. Over several years they documented the struggle of farmers against the construction of Narita Airport on their land, and later lived in a mountain village where several more films were created.
